Questions patients ask

The things cautious people ask.

Answered plainly, including the awkward ones about money and about what happens if something goes wrong. If your question is not here, ask us on WhatsApp or by email and we will answer it properly.

Is dentistry in Romania actually as good as the UK?+

A country or an equipment brand does not establish the quality of an individual clinic. Before deciding, check the named dentist, current registration, proposed treatment, alternatives and aftercare. Ask for evidence of any specialist or equipment claim and compare the clinical plans, not just the prices.

What to check before choosing a clinic →

What do you need from me to prepare a quote?+

Start with a general description of what you are considering. The coordinator can explain the assessment process and how any records requested by the treating clinic should be provided. An online enquiry is not a clinical examination or a final treatment quote.

The full step-by-step process →

Is the quote free, and am I committed to anything?+

Our coordination enquiry is free and carries no obligation. Sending an enquiry does not book treatment. Ask the clinic to confirm any assessment fees, the scope of its estimate and payment terms before agreeing to proceed.

How soon could I be treated?+

Timing depends on clinical assessment, the proposed treatment and clinic availability. Some cases require preparation, healing or several visits. Confirm a case-specific schedule with the treating dentist before booking travel; we do not promise treatment the following week.

Questions about the treating clinic →

Do I pay you anything?+

No. You pay the clinic directly for your treatment and you never pay us. We are paid a commission by our partner clinic if you go ahead, which is how the service is funded and why we state it openly rather than in the small print.

When do I pay, and is it all upfront?+

You pay the clinic directly. Ask for its deposit, payment-stage, cancellation and refund terms in writing before committing. This website does not promise a particular payment schedule or that no deposit will be required.

Can the price change once I am there?+

A preliminary estimate can change after examination or if the clinical plan changes. Ask the clinic to explain the proposed work, alternatives, exclusions and additional costs before you consent. A remote enquiry does not establish a fixed treatment price.

I need a lot of work. Is it just the unit price times the number of teeth?+

Individual prices do not establish the cost of a complete treatment plan. Ask for an itemised estimate covering assessment, materials, laboratory work, temporary restorations and any additional procedures. Do not assume a volume discount or infer a full-arch price from component prices.

The itemised price ledger and how plans are priced →

How many trips will I need?+

The number and timing of visits depend on the clinical plan and healing. A single visit, two-trip schedule or fixed temporary teeth cannot be promised for every patient. Ask the treating dentist about likely visits, review appointments and circumstances that could change the schedule.

The full step-by-step process →

What if I need to change my dates?+

Tell the coordinator and clinic as early as possible. Revised dates depend on clinical needs and availability. Check the clinic, airline and accommodation cancellation or change terms before booking; rearrangement may involve additional costs.

Is it cheaper to get dental implants abroad once flights are added?+

Not necessarily. Compare itemised clinic estimates for the same treatment scope and include flights, accommodation, time away, follow-up and possible return visits. Current fares and individual clinical needs matter; this page does not promise a saving.

The itemised UK-vs-Bucharest ledger →

Is it worth going abroad for dental treatment?+

That is an individual decision involving clinical suitability, risks, total costs and access to aftercare. Discuss your options with a dentist and compare written plans. Neither a lower advertised price nor the destination alone establishes value or equivalent care.

How do I get to Bucharest?+

Check current flight routes and fares from your preferred airport. Confirm the clinic location, appointment dates and any travel restrictions advised by the treating dentist before booking flights and accommodation. Travel arrangements are made directly by you.

Getting there, where to stay and what to see →

Do I need travel insurance?+

Ask an insurer whether a proposed policy covers your planned treatment trip, dental complications and associated travel costs. Check exclusions and obtain the relevant terms in writing. Do not assume ordinary travel insurance or a clinic guarantee covers those costs.

Will everyone speak English?+

Confirm which language your treating dentist and support team use, and whether an interpreter is needed. You should be able to understand the proposed treatment, risks, consent documents and aftercare instructions before deciding.

Can I have orthodontics or clear aligners too?+

Ask a suitably qualified dentist whether orthodontic treatment is appropriate and available for your case. Clarify the assessment, monitoring, in-person reviews and arrangements if problems arise while you are at home. Do not assume remote reviews replace necessary clinical visits.

All treatments and what they cost →

What happens if something needs fixing back home?+

Before treatment, agree who to contact, where reviews or remedial care would take place and who would pay. Request treatment records and the exact implant or material details where relevant. Confirm whether a chosen UK dentist can provide follow-up; compatibility and availability are not guaranteed.

Questions about aftercare and written terms →

What happens to my X-rays and personal details?+

Your records are used to prepare your treatment plan and are shared with the partner clinic for that purpose. They are not sold and not used for anything else. What we hold, how long we keep it and how to ask for it to be deleted is set out in our privacy notice.
